A better week this week, so sugar has lasted. I gave them another fill of 1.5L and checked the frames. 5 undrawn, 2 half done and the rest a good mixture of pollen uncapped honey and brood. Saw the queen.

About one side of brood, half a side of capped honey, and more pollen and uncapped honey. About a quarter of frames fully drawn out. Queen on side 8 marked 82

Gave them a 1kg Nektapoll slab and transferred remaining syrup to a rapid feeder which will be quicker to top up. Will do so tomorrow.

It is ready now with a new brood box and ten fresh frames of foundation, tomorrow the package of Carniolan bees arrives from the Czech Republic.

Bees have emptied it. Also removed queen cage, she was safely out, although I thought for a moment she was still in there  - it was a worker.
