I've been worrying about the low readings from my new arnia.co.uk sensors
This is in my white WBC hive, brood box. Readings are typically only a few degrees above the sensor which is on the outside of the brood box between the two skins above the entrance.
The current configuration is brood box with two honey filled supers. When I installed the internal sensor the weather was too cold to open the hive. I cracked open the joint above the brood and just pushed in the sensor far enough to reach the centre of the box, but I don't know what direction it went in.
I have now come to the conclusion that the sensor is nowhere near the cluster, in particular it must have ended up below it. A temperature reading on the crown board is warmer, so there are bees there.
I will try and contain myself until warmer weather to reposition the sensor.
